Site face lift and some progress...

Mon Nov 2, 2009, 10:09 AM
Finally gave Spookyco the facelift I had been talking about for AGES!!! I started working with illustrator last night and just couldnt leave this little art project alone. Next think i know, the web site is getting redone and personally I think it looks GREAT!
I have to give a shout out to my good friend Justin for showing me how to do that ultra nifty texture. It adds a lot to the site!
Still have some stuff to add to make it complete but Im getting there. And the excitement of that new procedure is sure to keep me cranking out some new work!
GO LOOKY!!!

Hitting a brick wall

Sat Oct 31, 2009, 8:44 AM
It would seem that I have put too many expectations on myself in thinking I would be able to wade through things easier than I have.
The past few weeks has essentially seen me shut down. This pretty much translates to "Eric hasn't gotten anything done."
I spent a few hours beating myself up over this last night. It is the one thing in my life that I do have some sort of control over and proved that I set the bar a little too high right now. It all comes down to this:
One project has been consuming all my time and attention but is not turning out how I would like it to. Therefore, nothing gets done because of this one project. So what would be the easiest way of dealing with the situation? I opted to just step a way from the project indefinitely and see if it comes back to me later on. Unfortunately this project has been a thorn in my side since day one. I have made a little progress here and there over the years with it, but it still eludes me in getting it rolling in a comfortable manner.
I really want to just hide for a while, get a bunch of new stuff together then unload all of it at one time on the world. Maybe start the new year off with a bang, some new stories, new artwork, stuff like that.
Im feeling a little defeated right now, but in the face of defeat the best thing to do is regroup and figure out a better way to ultimately succeed....
I will get there... And thanks to everyone for being patient with me. Ive come a long way this year and I will keep trudging on.

I just wanted to give a shout out to my buddy Mike Ray at inktycoon.com
He gave me some great pointers on how to kind of streamline the process of doing my work in illustrator. I look forward to putting what i learned to use and see how much time this saves me in the long run.
you guys should check him out!
